Trey has spent the past 27 years in the wealth management business, both as an advisor guiding individuals and families, and as a coach and consultant to successful independent wealth managers. Over the last decade Trey has worked with one of the largest and most respected RIAs (Registered Investment Advisors) in the country, frequently speaking at national investment conferences on investment strategies and wealth management topics. Serving in his role as a Vice President gave him the unique opportunity to work alongside two Nobel-prize winners, one of the world’s leading behavioral finance experts, respected industry thought leaders and many of the top independent wealth managers in the nation. Drawing upon this experience will be an important asset to our collective team and, most importantly, to the clients for whom we serve. Trey has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation. The AIF® mark demonstrates understanding of the Prudent Practices® for Investment Advisors and defines a global Fiduciary standard of excellence.
He takes great pride in his work, but his family is the most important part of his life. Trey and his wife Andrea love to travel and experience new places, though these days they are busy keeping up with their twin sons, Kayden and Quinn and daughter, Olivia. For the past 40 years, Cheree has been helping others achieve their financial and life goals. From the beginning of her career, she was passionate about helping others. Cheree has been there for her clients through the most critical moments in life when choices and decisions are tough. Whether it’s navigating a forced retirement, a job loss, an unexpected illness, caring for aging parents, or selling a business, Cheree’s strength is that of being her client’s strongest advocate when it’s most needed.
With previous experience in banking and the legal professions, she was well prepared to guide her clients through life’s transitions. She believes that to be a good advisor, one must have adequate training, education, and experience., but more importantly, a good advisor must listen and really hear what a person is saying. She believes that there’s more than one right solution, and with time, the solutions may change. She continually looks for and offers new ways to improve her clients’ financial picture throughout the life of the relationship. For Cheree, financial planning is not only about money, but about life.
As a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana, giving back to the community is important to her. She has served on numerous boards and acted as chairman of many fundraisers for charitable causes. She is an active member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church where she volunteers as a Lector.
She loves spending time with family and friends, and limiting her guest list is a constant challenge. She loves to cook and entertain, play golf, and travel. She plans for fun much like she plans for her client’s financial success, always looking for the next best thing to do or place to go.
Doug practiced Radiology for over 30 years in West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, and Louisiana. His personal experiences as a client and investor led him to realize the importance of good financial planning and finding the right financial planner. As Cheree’s client prior to becoming her partner in business and life, Doug had a goal of rewiring to a new career rather than fully retiring. In 2008, he joined Cheree in her practice and became a financial planner and investment advisor. Having the knowledge to properly assess clients goals and needs and make the appropriate recommendations, Doug obtained his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 2012.
He enjoys golf, traveling, lectoring at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, and watching college sports. Doug’s favorite saying: “Failing to plan is planning to fail.”
